A new business. Not a new painter.

I’m Shayan Nasiri, and Shayna Painting is mine.

For 13 years I painted full-time in my family’s painting business in Melbourne’s inner north, working alongside my brothers. Interiors, exteriors, period homes, apartments, shopfronts — thousands of rooms. Long enough to know that the difference between a job that looks good on the day and one that still looks good in five years is almost entirely in the preparation.

What changed

Around a year ago, everything moved east. My wife and I bought a home in Bayswater North, and our daughter, Shayna, was born. The drive across town to the old patch stopped making sense. I didn’t want to spend her first years in traffic, and I wanted to work in the suburbs I now live in.

So I started my own business close to home and named it after her.

Why the name matters

Because it keeps me honest. I’m not going to leave a rough edge or a lumpy patch on a job that has my daughter’s name on it. That is the whole business plan.

How I work

I quote every job myself after seeing it. I do the work myself. If a job is big enough to need a second pair of hands, it is someone I have worked with for years, and I am on site. You will not be handed off to a crew you have never met.

I stick to the eastern suburbs on purpose. Short drives mean I can quote quickly, start on time, and come back without fuss if something needs a touch-up.

Where I work from

Home base is in Bayswater North. It is a house and a workshop, not a shop — there is nothing to walk into. I come to you.
