Do you charge for quotes?
No. Shayan comes to the property, looks at the surfaces, and sends a written quote. There is no charge and no obligation.
Can you quote from photos?
Only as a rough guide. A real quote needs a look at the condition of the surfaces, which photos never quite show. For most homes in the eastern suburbs the visit takes 20 to 30 minutes.
Do I need to supply the paint?
No. Paint, primers, fillers and sundries are included in the quote. We use trade-quality products from the major Australian brands. If you have a specific product in mind, just say so.
Who actually does the work?
Shayan. Shayna Painting is owner-operated. On bigger jobs he may bring in help he has worked with before, but he is on site and responsible for the finish.
How long does a typical job take?
A single room is usually one to two days. A full interior repaint of a three-bedroom home is around a week. Exteriors depend on the weather and the preparation needed. Your quote will give a realistic timeframe.
Do you fix cracks and holes first?
Yes, and it is written into the quote. Everyday plaster repairs, filling, sanding and caulking are part of the job, not an add-on.

Is Shayna Painting a new business?
Yes. Shayna Painting is about one year old. Shayan spent the 13 years before that painting full-time in his family’s painting business in Melbourne’s inner north. When he bought a home in Bayswater North and his daughter was born, he started his own business close to home. It is named after her.
Do you give quotes over the phone?
A rough range, sometimes. A real number only after seeing the surfaces. The visit is free and usually takes under half an hour.
Do you work weekends?
Saturdays, yes. Sundays are for family unless a commercial job needs it.
